I'm really inspired but Food Pharmacy's way to make food. In the book "kokboken" they offer really easy alternative ways to make anti-inflammatory food. Here is one of their recipes, raising smoothies to a completely new level. No pans or ovens, no powders, no commercial shit. Just food, as natural as you can find it in the supermarket.
Wash the following ingredients and blend in a mixer with 1/2 litre of water. Don't produce food scraps unnecessarily, the peels and seeds are usually the most nutritional parts of the plant! The avocado seed is a good example. It's just a bit bitter, and that's why the whole seed isn't used in the recipe.
- a small sweet potato, including skin
- a small jerusalem artichoke, incl. skin
- a small piece of ginger, incl. skin
- 2 kale leaves, incl. stem
- 1 avocado + 1/4 of its seed
- 2 celery stalks
- 1/2 lemon, incl. skin & seeds
- about 35 g green leaves of your choice
So now, if you bought some of the ingredients in bulk, as I did - you have the potential to cook wonderful food! Have more time? Roast the roots in the oven and make a kale salad, all the while snacking on some celery. Or do you have less time? Just use the other lemon half to make another gut smoothie.
